Kia ora, I'm Sarah. I'm a matresence coach, facilitator and educator based in Marlborough. I guide women through the profound transformation of matrescence, using a blend of lived experience and professional training.
My own experience of becoming a mother changed and challenged me in ways I had not foreseen. I want women to walk the path of matrescence with more ease. This is why I have become a certified matrescence practitioner and work as a coach and perinatal support group facilitator.
As a coach, I provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you will feel heard, validated, and empowered. Through connection, education, and compassionate curiosity, I will help you understand your changing identity, and build the confidence and self-compassion you need to meet motherhood on your own terms.

Kia ora, I’m Stacey May — a mum of two girls and the heart behind May She Flourish. Becoming a mother changed me in ways I could never have imagined — it challenged my identity, my relationships, and how I understood myself. Like many women, I found that motherhood is both beautiful and deeply complex. That experience shaped my passion for supporting others through their own journeys. I’m a Registered Social Worker who brings warmth, empathy, and down-to-earth understanding to my sessions. My approach is grounded in real-life motherhood — the joy and love, but also the exhaustion, uncertainty, and growth that come with it. Through gentle, one-on-one sessions (in person in Ashburton or online), I offer a safe space for women to slow down, reflect, and feel genuinely seen and supported. Together, we explore what’s feeling heavy, nurture self-trust, and find new ways to flourish in this season of change. I believe that when mothers are supported with compassion and connection, the whole whānau — and the wider community — benefit.

She holds a BA in Psychology from the National University of Ireland, an MSc in Applied Psychology, and a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Trinity College Dublin. Emma is a Chartered member of The Psychological Society of Ireland and upholds the highest standards of ethical and compassionate practice.
Her work is grounded in a deep respect for the lived experience of parenting and a commitment to challenging outdated, idealised narratives that leave many parents feeling unseen or inadequate. Emma founded The Mothering Psychologist to offer a more compassionate, evidence-informed, and emotionally honest approach to parenting support. Her practice integrates clinical expertise with personal insight, empowering parents to let go of perfectionism, honour their instincts, and build meaningful, attuned relationships with their children.
Emma is also the founder of NurturePod™, a supportive online community space designed to nurture parents as whole people. Through expert guidance, gentle conversations, and community connection, NurturePod™ holds space for the emotional realities of parenting — especially in the early years — and offers a responsive, neuroaffirming alternative to one-size-fits-all advice.
With specialist training in infant mental health, attachment, and holistic sleep, Emma brings a deeply integrative perspective to her work. She is passionate about supporting families through a lens of compassion, connection, and respect. As a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and OCN Level 6 Holistic Sleep Coach, she blends relational safety with evidence-based insight in all she offers.
